Corsham Windband Association Strikes a Chord During Royal Visit

On Tuesday 28 0ctober  2025, the Corsham Windband Association provided a stirring soundtrack to a memorable day in the town as Her Majesty Queen Camilla paid a visit to Corsham High Street.

The Queen delighted crowds as she made her way through the Martingate Centre and along the High Street, meeting residents, shopkeepers, and representatives from local community groups. Among the highlights of the visit was her stop to listen to the Corsham Windband Association, whose performance filled the crisp autumn air with music and pride.

Her Majesty paused to enjoy the band’s rendition, shaking hands with conductor Sonia Blandford and praising the ensemble for its contribution to Corsham’s vibrant community life.

Queen Camilla’s visit also included a stop at St Bartholomew’s Church, where she admired the community’s impressive poppy cascade and attached the final flower to the display — a poignant tribute ahead of Remembrance commemorations.

The occasion drew large, enthusiastic crowds, with residents lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the Royal visitor. For the Corsham Windband Association, it was a proud day that showcased both their musical talent and their deep-rooted role in the local community.
